Texas born and educated, Roger earned his degree in art education at
Texas Tech in 1966. He began his career as a high fire stoneware potter
and art teacher in the 60s and 70s. He taught art in the San Angelo
public schools while establishing the Chicken Farm Art Center. Since
1977, the art center and his own work have received his full attention.
Rogers focus changed to bronze casting during the 80s but returned to
clay in the 90s and the Star Keeper story was born.
Roger is knowledgeable in many art techniques and spends much of his
time sharing with others. He remains committed to education by offering
a diverse program of special interests for children - creators of the
future - and an array of programs for all ages. But, the Chicken Farm
Art Center may be Roger's biggest and finest work of art.
