Clay Art Web Guide, Gecko Gallery and Chicken Farm Art Center
are proud to present the 2009 Kiln God National, an exhibition of kiln gods.
The show will be juried by Billy Ray Mangham from actual work with
first, second and third place purchase awards presented. The show will
be exhibited at the Gecko Gallery at the Chicken Farm Art Center during Ceramic Weekend an event sponsored by San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, Angelo State University and Chicken Farm Art Center. Following
the exhibition, the show will become an online exhibit at http//:KilnGodNational.com.

Billy Ray Mangham has been working
in clay for 30 years. He received a B.A. in Ceramics from San
Jose State U. in San Jose, CA, and a M.A. and M.F.A. from
Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. After teaching
for the Austin Museum of Art and Austin Community College in
Austin, TX for ten years, he purchased land and began to build
his house and studio near San Marcos in 1989. "My work
continues to focus on the raku process. The colors and the
interaction with the fire never cease to pull me forward. At
present, I am working on large sculptures using techniques
learned while in a month long sculpture symposium in Panavezys,
Lithuania with an international group of artists.
Billy Ray will be exhibiting at
the San Angelo Museum of Fine arts as an invited artist and
workshop presenter during ceramic week.

| Eligibility and Rules |
- Open to residents of the 50
United States.
- Each participant may enter
up to two entries at a fee of 15.00 each.
- The exhibition will be
juried by actual work submitted for entry.
- Entries should be made predominantly of clay, have presided over at least one firing and have the ability to withstand 1000 degrees F.
- Entries should not exceed 6Hx4Wx4D inches.
- Each entry should have a
value not to exceed 150.00 and should be for sale. A
commission of 40 percent will be charged on each sale.
- The Kiln God National
reserves the right to photograph works for the purpose of
publication.
- Although every effort will
be made to ensure the safety of submitted works, the
sponsors of this exhibition will not be held responsible for
damage that might occur during the course of the show.
- Submission of an entry to
this exhibition constitutes agreement of the artists to all
terms and conditions in this prospectus. Non adherence to rules may be cause for disqualification
