Portland Pottery presents Sculpture on the Wheel with Chris Archer to take place Saturday October 24, 1-5.
The below is was taken from their website:
The use of a traditional tool such as the pottery wheel often comes with preconceived notions about the work that can be produced with it. In addition, what defines the term ‘sculpture’ today is widely interpreted and is the subject of ongoing discussion and debate in contemporary art communities. This workshop is an opportunity and challenge to rethink and reinterpret our understanding of both the wheel and sculpture through focused exploration of compositional skills. Many exercises and examples will be displayed, discussed, demonstrated and tried to open up a dialogue of possibilities. $60
