Ink & Clay 26 is an annual competition, established in 1971, of prints and drawings; ceramic ware and clay sculpture sponsored by the W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The primary underwriting is through the generosity of Col. Jim Jones. Ink and Clay is an exhibition open to all of the Western States including AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, ND, SD, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WY. A virtual catalog will be published and mounted on the gallery’s website. A PDF catalog will be available for download. Each artist will be given a page for their image and text (statement, bio, resume, contact information). Cash awards. Entry fee
Jurors: Ink - Leslie Jones and Clay – Elaine Levin
Leslie Jones is currently an Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Leslie holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the institute of Fine Arts, New York University. In addition to her lectures and catalog essays, in the last five years she has published over two-dozen reviews in Art on Paper. Elaine Levin is an art historian, lecturer, writer and curator in ceramics. Among Elaine’s myriad publications are the books The History of American Ceramics, Harry N. Abrams, NY and a collection of her articles written for the magazine Ceramics Monthly published as Movers and Shakers in American Ceramics: Defining 20th Century Ceramics. The American Ceramic Society and the National Council for Education in the Ceramic Arts have recognized and honored her for her achievements in teaching, writing and lecturing about ceramics.
