FEATS OF CLAY XXIIITM – 2010 Call for Entry

Lincoln Arts & Culture Foundation will present its twenty-third annual juried competition of ceramic works April 24 – May 30, 2010 featuring artists residing or working in the United States, Mexico & Canada. This celebratory exhibition of contemporary ceramic art (sculptural, non-functional, functional) will be held on the property of the renowned Gladding, McBean Terra Cotta Factory, and displayed inside an original 35-foot beehive kiln and in the historic architectural design studio. Access to the exhibit is by tour only.

2010 JUROR − WILLIAM VANGILDER
Juror for Feats 2010 is internationally known ceramicist, Bill van Gilder, of Gapland, MD. Van Gilder has been perfecting his craft for more than 40 years and is the Creator & Host of Throwing Clay on DIY Network; is a columnist for Clay Times magazine; is Owner/Director of The Frederick Pottery School Inc., Frederick, MD. Among his impressive credits,
he lists the creation and management of two large production potteries in Southern Africa (Lesotho & Swaziland) under the auspices of The World Bank. He has published several books, and has recently designed a line of professional potter’s tools (van Gilder Clay-Tools). His clay work, which is exhibited and held in many public and private collections, is well respected both in the United States and abroad.
