The Clay Studio’s newest guest artist-in-residence, Judyth van Amringe has invited the community to take a part in creating her monumental art installation: Crosses, Bones, Cherry Trees. Hands-on Community Workshop: Bones and Brunch
The Clay Studio is proud to offer the community an opportunity to work with an accomplished artist as she prepares for a high profile, ceramic installation. A light brunch will be served as Judyth van Amringe guides participants through the creation of porcelain bones and crosses to be used in her installation at Eastern State Penitentiary.
Once completed, the crosses and bones will be accompanied by three cherry trees planted in the inmate garden at Eastern State Penitentiary as a testament to the promising future that can arise from a dark past. The installation will be on view from March 24-May14, 2010.
YOU can contribute to an important community art project, even if you have no experience with clay.
