The purpose of The Art Fund Prize for museums and galleries is to recognize and stimulate originality and excellence in museums and galleries in the UK, and increase public appreciation and enjoyment of all they have to offer. A single award of £100,000 is presented to a museum or gallery whose entry, in the opinion of the judges, best meets the Prize criteria through a project completed or mainly undertaken in the previous calendar year. Eleven museums and galleries are in the running to win the £100,000 Art Fund Prize. Although the long list traditionally comprises ten, such was the volume of high quality applications under consideration that the Judges felt it impossible to select less than eleven. You have an opportunity to vote for your favorite. Cast your vote, leave your comments and enter our exclusive competition to WIN a limited edition print by artist and Art Fund Prize judge Jonathan Yeo. All votes and comments will be considered by the Judges in their decision-making process. The winner will be announced on 30 June 2010.
These are the eleven museums and galleries chosen by the Judges to form the 2010 long list announced on 18 February.
