Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts, located in the River Arts District near downtown Asheville, offers classes and workshops for children to adults at all skill levels. The mission of Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts educational program is to promote understanding, appreciation and professional development in the ceramic arts.

Clay Date Night is back by popular demand and will be held on September 17th from 6:30-9pm. You are sure to have a great night learning some slippery moves at this monthly event. Bring a date, come with friends, or meet someone new on a Friday night. Our instructors will walk you through a few simple projects, or you can impress your date with your own creations. A special Family Night on October 15th is planned. Kids, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles-bring the whole family!

Looking for more than a one day clay experience you can feel good about? Join our Empty Bowls class where you’ll learn more about the Empty Bowls Movement and its success raising money and bringing awareness to hunger and food security issues. Enjoy guest artists including John Hartom, the founder of the Empty Bowls Movement, and do a good deed because the bowls you make will be used in Asheville’s Empty Bowls event in mid-October. For additional class information call 828.285.0210, visit www.highwaterclays.com, or email Cara Gilpin at odyssey@highwaterclays.com.
