SUBMISSION DEADLINE: June 30, 2011
18 Hands Gallery is looking for entries for its 2011 “Dining In IV: An Artful Experience,” a juried exhibition that will run the month of August (opening held in conjunction with the Houston Heights White Linen Night celebration.)
The exhibition will feature hand-made items that might be found on a dinner table. This includes plates, chargers, bowls, candleholders, tureens, ladles, centerpieces, spoons, forks, knives, drinking vessels, napkins, etc. Complete place settings are also acceptable and count as a single entry. Entrants may enter in one or both categories. The categories are:
- 1) Place settings: place settings should consist of dinner plate, salad or dessert plate, soup or salad bowl & one additional piece of the artist’s choice (example: tumbler, mug, wine glass, cup & saucer). Place settings are considered one entry.
- 2) Side and Serving Pieces: These pieces can be anything that is found on the dining room table (examples: casserole dishes, platters, candleholders, large serving bowls, pitchers, etc.)
Submissions are open to all United States ceramic artists. Entry fee is $25.00, payable to 18 Hands Gallery. A maximum of 3 entries per artist will be reviewed (a Place Setting counts as a single entry.)
