Explored YouTube today to find a video that shows how pottery can be fired using the sawdust technique. The pieces are hand built, dried and placed in a sawdust kiln to fire. From comments by the artists, we have learned that this is a single firing. It is possible to do this without initially pre-firing the work, but it must be done in a manner where there is decreased thermal shock. I think embedding the kiln in the ground adds to the consistency of the kiln. Try it. It is fun, but, be prepared for breakage. Beautiful video by the way Congratulations robotbugs! Vicki Hardin
