CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS.
The Northern Arizona University Art Museum invites artists to submit entries for our 2011 National Juried Ceramics Exhibition; will be held October 18-November 23, 2011. Entry forms due September 9, 2011. Co-Jurors: Dr. George Speer, Director of the NAU Art Museum and Jason Hess, Associate Professor of Ceramics. First place, $500.00. ELIGIBILITY:
All ceramic media exclusive of commercial reproduction are eligible. Each artist may submit up to three images for each of his/her works completed in the last two years. Works over 50 pounds may require a supplementary shipping fee charged to the artist.
CO-JURORS:
Dr. George Speer, Director of the NAU Art Museum, has administered past ceramics biennials at NAU Art Museum. Before coming to NAU, Dr. Speer was Curator of the Luce Foundation Center for American Art at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Jason Hess is an Associate Professor and Head of the Ceramics Area at
Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. He has exhibited his
artwork across the US and internationally and received numerous
research grants from universities and state granting agencies. Jason’s
work is predominantly utilitarian and is often fired in atmospheric kilns.
